Spring Thanksgiving

I just want to say it

That everything You touch, everything You make

Is my favorite

All the flowering trees with teacup-shaped leaves and purple buds

I don’t know their names

But this time each year they come back the same

Just like Your faithfulness

All the news is about how the world’s a mess

I know it doesn’t surprise You

Surely the trees and new marriages and babies delight You

Even the old in their steadfastness

And the generosity that happens

I want to do good

But there’s darkness in me I can’t overcome

Parts of me can’t grow even in the sun

But I know You’re love is brighter

And You’re always reaching out – all the time, everywhere

Via my Golden retriever

My husband, the best of friends

In the ocean air

Of all Your blessings, I’m a receiver

Like the cattle on the hills and the fish in the sea

The birds in the sky

You satisfy everything

All creation is celebrating

Because of You

And I’m just taking a minute to express some gratitude

For these hands, my husband’s, four paws, and Your unfailing plan

I’m lavished

Your goodness has me ravished

Thanks  ~
