The Wind

Me and my pup walked through the field

It was blustery out and rainy

I used the umbrella as a shield

As we made our way to the docks

My pup, who loves the water, took off

My umbrella was caught by the wind

I held on tight, decided to let it take me for a spin

The wind lifted me

Among the shaking trees it was a symphony

My pup followed

I reached my outstretched hand down

His paw met it

We were both netted – by the wind

We flew over the baseball field

Marveled at the yellow daffodils below

For a moment we even got to see some snow

We were whisked over the river

What a picture!

Atop the pines

What a time!

The wind decided to settle

It let us down softly and whispered, “Careful where you meddle”
