Our Cruise

There’s three things in my suitcase

For five days I’ll be out of this place

I should pack more, we both should

I’ve packed a wetsuit, almond butter, and prenatal vitamins

You were talking about bringing wine – that would be good

The water and your eyes are bound to shine like diamonds

I’m gonna float, eat, read on the boat

You’re gonna finally get some rest, I hope

Could the three things be foreshadowing of the year ahead?

I think we’re both tired of looking back

There’s a lot of calendars that have been thrown away

They couldn’t stay up even with the strongest tack

Soon enough, my love, we’re gonna be dead

Because time moves faster than a ship on the sea

Could I float forever in the Caribbean in my wetsuit? Maybe

Almond butter is plenty of calories

Drink a little wine

We’ll both be forever cute

Under the setting sun, let’s dine

Give me your hand, your life, your time

Like when we were in our mid 20s

Let’s not worry about the money

I’ll take my vitamins

And be happy in your arms

Let’s sail away together as 2026 begins

Because, my love, time is thin
