It may have seemed like nothing to you
I’m not sure
But you later told me what you said is true
Your words were fresh air, the prescription I’ve been desperately needing
They sparked a fire for new life
They got me once again believing
In that old vision I had from 2018
Remember I wrote it down?
Since that time I’ve met a lot of people who are mean
It’s somewhere in the file cabinet now
But I remember it
Sometime in the last 7 years it got muddled
Your words undid the trouble
You said I’m tough
Like Sarah Connor (my childhood role model)
And you said I’m good
I was a deflated balloon, a shattered bottled
You puffed me up, swept me up
With some encouragement
I hope you know what it meant
To hear that I am enough
