Influencer

I was sitting on the sofa, on my computer

Everyone wants to be an influencer

Who can capture the most attention

Are your fingers tired from swiping, from scrolling, from typing?

Each thumbs up or notification or orange bell

Each ding, each chime is a flash of lightning

Everyone’s got a story to tell

Even off the screen

In real life, are you blue or green?

I have a million excuses

Going outside and talking to your neighbors and co-workers are the new truces

In my garage sits an hourglass

Outside my window I saw my neighbor cut the grass

Someone wrote what I read

So I get up, mow my grass

And write

Everyone is an influencer

Indeed
