Snowstorm

I love a snowstorm

Watching all those flakes in their transient form

It doesn’t happen much here

But when it does, it’s either celebration or fear

I enjoy being packed in

With no cars on the road, no planes in the sky, I can finally listen

And there’s nowhere to go

So I just sit and watch the snow

My backyard reminds me of a snowy egret

Can we be washed like that?

In the midst of mud and traffic, all of life’s static

How I want to believe it

Everything is covered in white

My office is closed

My plans overthrown

But it’s alright

The snow is barreling down, it’s covering everything

Can it reach my insides too, and make me clean?

Can I be like a snowflake

Can we all become like snow?

Packed together, unpolluted, not fake

Going where God says to go
