Effervescent

Do you feel like the world is too heavy?

Do you feel like you prep and prep but you’re never ready?

That time escapes

Like a car full of birthday balloons

But some kid opens the door and they get released too soon

Do you feel like you’re going to pop

Is your face red hot?

After this load of laundry, after this meal, after everything’s crossed off

How will you feel?

When does the world, when do the problems, stop?

They don’t

Aiming for perfection is a form of deflection

If you let everyone down

They won’t drown

If you don’t make the party, it’ll still go on

Balloons were made to float

You, to radiate hope

And to also be effervescent

Not frazzled or burdened

Let all the busyness, the obligations, the “have-tos” be second

Emotions are snowflakes

People-pleasing, a mistake

Let the balloons out of the car

Be light, be colorful, be where you are
