Autumn

What is it about the crinkling leaves

The air that’s finally cool

The colors above that hold my eyes

Red, yellow, brown – a kaleidoscope, a symphony

My Golden retriever’s coat is disguised

The sidewalk is overrun

The wind, the colors, the crinkling – takes us to the trail for some fun

Pale blue sky punctuated by nature’s glitter

The baseball fields are empty

The river laps gently

Soon it will be winter

How I love it!

The fields, the river, the beach is ours!

We run along the marsh and stomp along the trails for hours

I let my hair out, maybe I’ll cut it

My pup jumps through the falling leaves, how he loves it!

My hair’s gonna fall out one day like these leaves

I dread the day my pup leaves

So I capture this moment, I try to make it freeze

The magnificent colors engulf us

We’re in a painting

Ruby, gold, and cashmere

We love it here

In the park at fall

It’s like the Creator gave us it all

We’re running, watching, being – in nature

We’re part of the art

Delighting our Maker
