Avocado

Ninja turtles

Leaves on the crepe myrtles

Dinosaurs

She said, “Green’s my favorite color, what’s yours?”

She had her nails painted minty green

Of all the colors it’s what she chose

It reminded her of the lime green walls of her bedroom as a child

Everybody else liked rose

A darker shade like the forest would be wild

Mint, like mint chocolate chip

That was it

“Who picks green?”, said everyone

She looked up, stunned

The sky wasn’t blue – it was green

It matched her nails and her ice cream

She ate while she held her bowl

In the forest

You’ve gotta go after your goal

Even if everyone says you’re green

Go green
