Behold the Love

It’s my dog running into day care, his favorite place

Paws scurrying across the floor

Puppy fur glitter, a sparkling smile all across his face

It’s a big guy holding a microphone on the stage

Telling any who will listen about amazing grace

John saying to “Behold!” the Father’s love

It’s a song, a dance

It’s words on a page

It’s the loyal custodian doing the trivial things with care

A child’s eyes on the Christmas tree in a marvelous stare

A bridegroom seeing his beloved in white

When the tears leak out from his eyes

A “Wow!” at a tasty meal

A hot bath on tired muscles, ah! How it feels

It’s me enjoying a hard run

And even my work

Feeling a win at the end of the day

It’s seeing people as sacred beings

Instead of numbers

Saying “thanks” in the bumper-to-bumper

My husband’s goofy chuckle

His love of dumb movies

The thought of relentless love – see! It makes me buckle

It’s what keeps me going

It’s what keeps the faithful serving

Love in deed among the undeserving

Notice! The Father’s love galore

It’s all around

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord
