The Cookie

Even into today we were raving

About how we went to Harris Teeter because of our craving

Sure, we’d just watched a CrossFit documentary

Who could the fittest on Earth be

Sculpted shoulders and chiseled abs

Something like this, have they ever had

Encased in a paper bag and slightly steaming

You handed it to me warm and I felt like I was dreaming

Real butter, it said on the bag

It encased every reason to brag

Chocolate chips, slightly melted

Gooey sugary goodness

In my hands I felt it

Coupled with a mason jar full of whole milk

A wonderful cookie, soft as silk

We’re still talking about it today

Told our friends about it too

How tragic there is none left

It was better than anyone could expect

It’s why we don’t do CrossFit

But we both agree the cookie was worth it

I have a feeling that me and you

Will be back to Harris Teeter soon
