Moon

Look at that

Perfectly round edges hanging splendidly there

Without any string or chain

I can’t help but stare

Pale white in the pink sky

A few gray whisps on its surface

Its beauty catches my eye

A natural wonder, on an evening stroll, what bliss

Just like a sunset, the birds, the thunder

Like happy marriage for a lifetime

It mirrors my retina

And I perceive

Your handprints on everything here

You made it, better than any human landscaper, architect, or craftsman

I believe

The heavens and the birds boast the best fashion

It’s a spectacular evening sky

Though in a world where me and my husband, all will die

I’m looking up, I’m looking forward

Praying You come soon

On a planet untoward

This place You made, heaven

Surely Your creation You won’t abandon

I see them overlap sometimes

But maybe it’s just in my mind

Brilliant as they are, the stars won’t do

Nor will that incandescent moon

But only You
