Sparkle

What’s the world look like in my dog’s eyes

Green pastures, car rides, beaches, blue skies

The beach is his favorite place

Right on the water’s edge

Where the waves make a sandy ledge

The blue-green water sparkles

Glitter on those miniature swells

In those brown puppy eyes

All is well

I stand right there on the coast

And chuck his orange buoyant toy

He runs from the soft sand to the water

And times it just right

He springs into the air

His lips flapping

Gold glittery hair

Fully overjoyed

Splash!

He’s into the bay

I catch the sun and the pelicans in my view

Right here with this pup is where I love to spend my days

Trying to see what he sees

Sand and sparkle

Goodness in the calamity

I marvel
