Simply Running

The tips of my toes are sore

The nail is black

But my feet keep on pounding

I keep going back

My hamstrings constrict and relax

Over and over

Arteries follow

My lungs are taxed

On to the bridge then into the hollow

Life is resounding

I’m spent at the end

What am I running from – or running to –

Maybe I’m just there to enjoy it

To encounter You

In the movement

In the nature

I’m alive

And in a strange way it has me feeling renewed

Simply running – life in full bloom

What a gift

Thank You
