writings on life

Imperishable

I’m trying to understand what this means

Surely there is a point and a truth

An absolute

For in all the nuances and in the vastness of the earth

In all the people across all the oceans

As time and generation passes

There’s a hoping in us all for rebirth

A cry for justice

A longing to be whole

Is it true you came to be among us

To rescue the furthest sole

Every creature is groaning

I’m yearning

Ever hoping to see it come

An unfading crown

A kingdom where You’re found

Hope met – life imperishable

As I sit on Your side

As I wait for You to arrive

Let me sit at Your feet

And give all of me

To the God eternal

Perfect, imperishable

I pray I’ll live well

And be redeemed

Welcomed into Your kingdom

Washed, imperishable too – a miracle

Also, all those who’ve longed for You
