My Brother’s Wife

You’ve gotta be out there somewhere

Surely you exist

I hear from the upright that there are slim pickins

None of us is perfect

But I like to believe there’s a few who try

Who have God’s law written on their hearts and minds

For my brother needs you

As do I

More than you know

Your purity – not a word we hear anymore

The strength of your quiet spirit

The instruction and wisdom on your tongue

Steadfastness and confidence

You are diligent

Not caught off guard

You plan ahead

But where are you

Not in a bar

I don’t think in a church, either

You’re somewhere – in tune with your Creator

Working, praying, preparing

Spreading love and kindness

Providing for needs, for the poor you are caring

Please, appear

Can we meet you this weekend

Can you be our friend

Can God direct you over here

I long for you and he does too

You’d make us glad

And I think we could offer you something too

Music and the most adorable idiosyncrasies

Musings, history

Crafts and workouts

Beliefs and doubts

It’d be a perfect match

For you’d be a perfect catch

A Proverbs 31 woman for a man who’s waited

You’ll make his dreams come true

Oh, how he’ll be elated

And I will be too
