The Glowing Tree

Orangey paper

Crackling in the breeze

Among a cotton candy sky

Light blue and pink

Golden sun sinking behind the trees

It’s just my dog and I

Standing in the grass

Walking, breathing, being

I hope this moment won’t pass

I stare at this glowing tree

Probably like Moses looked at the burning bush

I can’t help but look

For though the world outside here is falling apart

And You see the darkness of every heart

You still show up

You don’t give up

I see You

Among the glowing tree

And in the way I breathe

You’re here with me

Please don’t ever leave
