Praise

I want to write for You, to write to You

To shout and dance and exude your praise

To run, to bow down, to fall in worship

But it’s hard sometimes to find my voice – for when I think of You, You take my breath away

In awe I’m here

Like a child who can’t comprehend

My words just disappear

And when I try to make sense

I’m left again with this

Empty hands, a baffled mind

A heart so wrecked by love

I become blind

To everything else

I’m fixated on You

I’m mesmerized

I’m taken in

I’m baptized – cherished, forgiven, accepted, loved

For You call me Your beloved, Your child, Your friend

So I’ll celebrate

I’ll rejoice

I’ll live – with You in my mind

I’m so thankful to You

Thank You, thank You, thank You

I’ll find some sort of voice

Here it is – and it’s for You

I’m writing, I’m working, I’m breathing

Living, running, loving, giving

Trying my all to imitate Your goodness

My Beloved, my Father, My Creator, my Friend, my King
